Fallout 4 Named Best Game at BAFTA Games Awards - xSicKx - 04-20-2016
Every year since 2004, the British Academy has held a ceremony to acknowledge video games and the achievements that games can accomplish. The 12th British Academy Games Awards was held in London just yesterday, and featured several winners meeting unique criteria.
The most notable category to win at the BAFTA Games Awards would be the Best Game category, which had many prospective entrees vying for the title. Between Fallout 4, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Rocket League, Life Is Strange, Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain, and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, competition was stiff and the decision could not have been made lightly. Fortunately for developer and publisher Bethesda Softworks, Fallout 4 ended up taking the crown for the best game released in 2015.
Among the circle of winners stands Ori and the Blind Forest for Artistic Achievement.

Audio Achievement went to the PS4 exclusive Everybody's Gone to the Rapture.

Batman: Arkham Knight was named best British Game.

The best Debut Game went to Her Story, as did Game Innovation as well as Mobile & Handheld. Her Story won Debut Game over Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, Mini Metro, Ori and the Blind Forest, and Prune. For Game Innovation, it beat out Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Life is Strange, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Splatoon, and Until Dawn. Lastly, Her Story won Mobile & Handheld against Alphabear, Fallout Shelter, Lara Croft GO, Prune, and The Room Three as the other nominees.
Rocket League also impressively won in numerous categories, those being Family, Multiplayer, and Sport. The nominees for Family were Disney Infinity 3.0, FIFA 16, Guitar Hero: Live, LEGO Dimensions, and Super Mario Maker. Rocket League won best Multiplayer game over Destiny: The Taken King, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, Splatoon, Rainbow Six Siege, and World of Warships. It also beat out DiRT RALLY, FIFA 16, Football Manager, Forza Motorsport 6, and PES 2016 as best Sport game.
Bloodborne ended up winning best Game Design, which is quite a feat considering its competition.

Best Music went to Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, undoubtedly for its atmospheric and gorgeous soundtrack.

Until Dawn unsurprisingly won Original Property with its character design and presentation.

Best individual Performer went to Merle Dandridge for her role as Kate Collins in Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. You might also recognize her as Alyx Vance from Half-Life 2 or Marlene from The Last of Us.

Best Persistent game went to Prison Architect, coming out on top over many big-name titles.

Finally, Life Is Strange won best Story for its captivating and gut-wrenching tale of Maxine Caulfield and her ability to rewind time.
