[Dev News] Gozen – Free & Open-Source Godot Powered Video Editor - xSicKxBot - 09-28-2026
Gozen is a free and open source Godot-powered video editor that just released in beta. It’s runs on Windows, Mac and Linux. You can get Gozen completely for free by building it from source yourself (a somewhat non-trivial setup process, but it works), or you can buy a version pre-compiled on Itch.io if you prefer or wish to support the developer.
Features of Gozen include:
- Smooth Playback & Responsive Scrubbing: For a stress-free and (Go)Zen experience;
- Modern Feel: The UI/UX has a modern touch whilst keeping the overall feel clutter free;
- GPU-Accelerated Effects: Higher performance as all effects are handled on the GPU directly;
- Customizable Workspaces: Your editor, you decide how it looks;
- Audio Sync: Builtin support for easily syncing external microphone audio with your video’s;
- Godot Module Extensibility: Import custom Godot scenes (.pck) directly into your timeline to create custom procedural graphics, titles, and animations.
It should be noted that I never personally got the PCK import to work, I am not sure if the feature currently doesn’t work or if it was user error.
