{"id":99493,"date":"2019-08-30T17:15:00","date_gmt":"2019-08-30T17:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/349805"},"modified":"2019-08-30T17:15:00","modified_gmt":"2019-08-30T17:15:00","slug":"fate-grand-order-dev-type-moon-opens-new-studio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sickgaming.net\/blog\/2019\/08\/30\/fate-grand-order-dev-type-moon-opens-new-studio\/","title":{"rendered":"Fate\/Grand Order dev Type-Moon opens new studio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Type-Moon, the developer behind the fighting game series <em>Melty Blood<\/em> and the mobile gatcha <em>Fate\/Grand Order<\/em>, has opened a new subsidiary studio called <a href=\"http:\/\/typemoon-bb.com\/\">Type-Moon Studio BB<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The new offshoot is headed up by Kazuya Niinou, the former series director for Square Enix\u2019s <em>Dragon Quest Builders<\/em> franchise.<\/p>\n<p>Niinou officially announced his departure from Square Enix last week, saying, in tweets translated by <a href=\"https:\/\/gematsu.com\/2019\/08\/dragon-quest-builders-series-director-kazuya-niinou-leaves-square-enix\">Gematsu<\/a>, that he had become burnt out during the development of <em>Dragon Quest Builders 2 <\/em>and \u201cwanted to try out a development cycle different from Square Enix.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Under Niinou, Type-Moon\u2019s Studio BB aims to support both internal and external game development projects.
