A recent <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.trademarkia.com\/company-analogue-inc-4617390-page-1-2\">trademark filing<\/a> may have given the game away; the company has filed trademarks for a handheld console called the Analogue Pocket, as well as another mystery system called the Analogue 8.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"picture strip\"><a title=\"Analogue Filings\" href=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/188820ab964fe\/analogue-filings.original.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/static.nintendolife.com\/blank.gif\" data-original=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/188820ab964fe\/analogue-filings.original.png\" alt=\"Analogue Filings\"><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>What these machines will run is anyone\u2019s guess at the moment, but in the case of the Analogue Pocket, it\u2019s highly likely that it will run Game Boy software, given the massive popularity of that particular line of portables. We could potentially see an FPGA-based handheld which runs Game Boy and Game Boy Color cartridges, and perhaps even GBA games \u2013 a mouth-watering prospect, we\u2019re sure you\u2019ll agree.<\/p>\n<p>As for the Analogue 8, it could be a system based on a popular 8-bit console, such as the PC Engine. Or, more outlandishly, it could cover all 8-bit consoles \u2013 something the incredibly expensive <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2017\/06\/hardware_review_the_analogue_nt_mini_isnt_just_the_best_nes_clone_its_much_more_besides\">Analogue Nt Mini<\/a> already does, thanks to a <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/ndj--BXGp6Y\">firmware update<\/a> that adds support to multiple console cores. The difference with the Analogue 8 <em>could<\/em> be that it has cartridge slots for all supported systems.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve reached out to Analogue for comment on these trademarks, and will update this story when we hear back.
