Because Epic doesn\u2019t yet have the same market share as their competitors, they offered us a minimum guarantee on sales that would match what we\u2019d be wanting to earn if we were just selling <em>Ooblets<\/em> across all the stores,\u201d explains the team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat takes a huge burden of uncertainty off of us because now we know that no matter what, the game won\u2019t fail and we won\u2019t be forced to move back in with our parents (but we do love and appreciate you, parents!).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ooblets.com\/2019\/07\/we-did-the-thing\/\">rest of the blog post<\/a> specifically addresses the two common complaints devs see after opting for an Epic Games Store deal, like the fledgling platform\u2019s lack of features compared to Steam and the idea that exclusives are inherently anti-consumer.<\/p>\n<p>On that second topic, Glumberland points out that the access to the Epic Games Store or other PC-based game platforms isn\u2019t locked behind a subscription like exclusives on Netflix or Hulu, &#8220;it\u2019s more like just having to press a button on your remote to change between free TV channels.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s also really disappointing to see folks threatening to pirate a game just because they can\u2019t get it on the game launcher they\u2019re used to,\u201d continues the post. \u201cFeeling like you\u2019re owed the product of other people\u2019s work on your terms or else you\u2019ll steal it is the epitome of that word &#8216;entitlement&#8217; that people use to discuss immature, toxic gamers.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cNow we can just focus on making the game without worrying about keeping the lights on.\u201d &#8211; The&nbsp;Glumberland&nbsp;team shares one of the reasons they signed on with Epic&#8217;s store.
