Well, the rest is history,&#8221; said Escayg. &#8220;<em>Left Behind<\/em>, <em>Uncharted 4<\/em> were fleeting and <em>Uncharted: The Lost Legacy<\/em> pushed my creative growth even further\u2014\u00a0I will miss all my dogs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Escayg was notably both writer and creative director on Naughty Dog\u2019s most recent release, the standalone <em>Uncharted 4<\/em> expansion <em>Uncharted: The Lost Legacy<\/em>. Before that, Escayg contributed his skills as an animator to <em>The Last of Us<\/em>, <em>The Last of Us: Left Behind<\/em>, and <em>Uncharted 4: A Thief\u2019s End<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While he did not note his next project in his Tweet, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/BdZJHILB-iV\/\">Instagram post<\/a> shared by the film and video game director seems to imply that he\u2019ll be working with Marvel\u2019s Avengers franchise in some capacity.<\/p>\n<p>This also marks the second major departure the developer has seen in recent memory, following <em>The Last of Us<\/em> co-director\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/305613\/The_Last_of_Us_codirector_Bruce_Straley_departs_Naughty_Dog_after_18_years.php\">Bruce Straley&#8217;s departure<\/a> from Naughty Dog late last year after a year-long sabbatical.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After seven years at Naughty Dog, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy writer and creative director Shaun Escayg has announced that he is departing the studio.
