Banjo and Kazooie are coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/a><\/strong>. Ah, we’ll never<\/em> get tired of saying that. Thankfully, it seems the same goes for the talented folks at Rare who have shared a blog post<\/a> detailing their hectic E3 schedule and giving us more details on the big Banjo reveal.<\/p>\n

We think it’s safe to say that the Banjo-Kazooie<\/a><\/strong> announcement went down pretty well, partly owing to the excitement of the duo’s passionate fanbase, and also thanks to the fact that the two characters seem to have been recreated in a wonderfully faithful manner. Everything from their appearance to their moveset had us reminiscing over the original N64 game with pure joy, which is exactly how it should be.<\/p>\n

So who’s responsible for this faithful accuracy? Well, several people we imagine, but Rare has given a special mention to Paul Cunningham – Lead Marketing Artist at the company who previously worked on titles like Diddy Kong Racing<\/a><\/strong>, Jet Force Gemini<\/a><\/strong>, Blast Corps<\/a><\/strong>, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts<\/strong>, and more.<\/p>\n

“While a core group of folks at Rare worked on this, we have to give a special shout out to our own Paul Cunningham who has been our point man on getting everything about Banjo and Kazooie’s appearance just<\/em> right. Your favourite duo are in very safe (albeit fighty) hands and we honestly cannot wait for everyone to get their game on in the incredible Smash<\/em> universe.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In the same blog post, Rare has also revealed that it had been “collaborating closely with the Smash team on this crossover since last year”, ensuring that everything from the movesets to musical choices were spot on. Of course, original Banjo-Kazooie composer Grant Kirkhope has lent his talents to the music<\/a> you’ll hear in Smash Ultimate, too. Having those responsible for the characters’ creation look over their Smash inclusion sounds like the perfect decision to us.<\/p>\n

Series director Masahiro Sakurai recently noted how getting Banjo and Kazooie into the game came “quite easily<\/a>“.<\/p>\n
