In a recent interview with the YouTube channel Shesez<\/a>, Banjo-Kazooie<\/a><\/strong> composer Grant Kirkhope was asked about how he felt when he heard his music in the character reveal trailer for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/strong><\/a> and how it compared to his other career highlights.<\/p>\n

According to the living legend himself, it\u2019s on par with the time Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle<\/a><\/strong> was first revealed for the Nintendo Switch at the Ubisoft E3 conference a number of years ago:<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019ve felt like this before\u2026When Mario + Rabbids came out, that was gigantic, and I guess it\u2019s comparable to that. Getting to do Mario was amazing and [seeing] Mr. Miyamoto on the stage at Ubisoft – the conference at E3 – a couple years ago, was incredible. That was equally as incredible. For me, those two moments in my career have to be the biggest really because I haven\u2019t felt anything like that before.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Kirkhope also wasn\u2019t aware how prominently his work would feature in the reveal trailer for Banjo (thanks, VGC<\/a>):<\/p>\n

\u201cI guessed they [Nintendo] were going to do a little bit of me with other pieces mixed in. But when it came to the trailer it was just all my music, so I was absolutely over the moon, I couldn\u2019t believe it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Seeing all of the fan reactions online made it even more touching for Kirkhope:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s so touching, it makes you realise what a big force video games are in general\u2026they\u2019re such a big intrinsic part of people\u2019s lives these days\u2026I can\u2019t compare it to anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
