The Rebel Galaxy developer wanted to create a flight simulator that captured the feel of the original <strong>X-Wing<\/strong> games on PC (a direct precursor to <strong><a class=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/n64\/star_wars_rogue_squadron\">Rogue Squadron<\/a><\/strong>), with all the modern improvements you&#8217;d expect from an era where sci-fi dogfighting games are firmly back in vogue.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"object object-youtube\">\n<div class=\"youtube\">[embedded content] <\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>The five-minute long video sadly wasn&#8217;t enough to convince EA to back the concept, which is a travesty considering it was from a developer that had made a game called <strong>Rebel Galaxy<\/strong>! Still, at least we can still sit and watch the Millennium Falcon in a dogfight with Slave-1 and sigh mournfully at what could have been.<\/p>\n<p>Would you love to see Rogue Squadron make a return to Nintendo hardware?\u00a0Or we stuck with Criterion&#8217;s Starfighter Assault mode in <strong>Star Wars Battlefront 2<\/strong>?
