Daily tasks will include story development, game dialogue, and general narrative contribution. The ideal candidate will have previous success as a game writer, outstanding dialogue skills, an excellent understanding of story and game structure, experience in a writers&#8217; room setting, and a passion to tell great stories in an open-world game.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Write high quality dialogue under tight deadlines for a diverse cast of characters who live in the world of 13th century Japan.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with content designers to write missions for an open-world game.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to other creative areas of the narrative including secondary game content, dialogue barks, and writing content for marketing materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of 3 years\u2019 of industry or related-industry experience as a game writer or screenwriter.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to pitch, write, iterate, and revise work under tight deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Able to brainstorm, collaborate with a team, and generate constructive feedback on narrative and design content.<\/li>\n<li>Successfully produced writing work, preferably in genre content.<\/li>\n<li>Thorough knowledge of the story and game development process.<\/li>\n<li>Solid understanding of story and game structure and how they can integrate successfully.<\/li>\n<li>Vast knowledge of successful intellectual properties in today&#8217;s popular culture.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational skills and ability to produce writing without constant supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Eager to write content that takes place in 13th century Japan.<\/li>\n<li>Deep understanding of open-world narrative and the current generation of open-world games.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Pluses<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience playing open-world games.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of medieval Japanese history.<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree or equivalent experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>&nbsp;This is a full-time, contract position located onsite in Bellevue, WA<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Interested?&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/jobs.gamasutra.com\/job\/narrative-writer-bellevue-washington-33216\">Apply now<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you&#8217;re just starting out, looking for something new, or just seeing what&#8217;s out there, the Gamasutra Job Board is the place where game developers move ahead in their careers.<\/p>\n<p>Gamasutra&#8217;s Job Board is the most diverse, most active, and most established board of its kind in the video game industry, serving companies of all sizes, from indie to triple-A.<\/p>\n<p>Looking for a new job?&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/jobs.gamasutra.com\/search\">Get started here<\/a>.
