We continued working the way we did before we had money.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><em>&#8211; Clever Endeavour&#8217;s Alex Attar explains why the studio kept its course steady despite releasing a successful game<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Successfully launching a hit game shouldn&#8217;t necessarily change the way you move through game development, argues a member of the development team behind party platformer <em>Ultimate Chicken Horse<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Games\/comments\/7la1qt\/ama_we_are_the_team_behind_ultimate_chicken_horse\/\">recent Reddit AMA<\/a> lead programmer and Clever Endeavour\u00a0CTO Alex Attar said that, despite the game becoming a successful title for the studio, the team maintained a frugal approach to development and ongoing studio operations.<\/p>\n<p>For the Clever Endeavour team, this meant avoiding the &#8220;we can afford it&#8221; mindset and keeping its workflow largely the same both before and after obtaining some financial security.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;While I obviously can&#8217;t go around divulging sensitive financial information, I can say that once we realized we were successful, our biggest strategy has been frugality. We didn&#8217;t immediately spend our cash on a fancy new penthouse office or immediately hire 15 people to start pumping out titles.
