We&#8217;d expect to hear it in an advert every now and then, but never during a government-owned network&#8217;s official broadcast schedule.<\/p>\n<p>Amazingly, Beijing Media Network, a Chinese network available across certain territories in Asia and North America, did exactly that, using an incredibly familiar piece of music from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/legend_of_zelda_breath_of_the_wild\"><strong>The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild<\/strong><\/a> during a transition. The show in question was a special celebration programme for the Chinese New Year taking place this week.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"object object-tweet\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p><span lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Beijing Television\uff08\u5317\u4eac\u536b\u89c6\uff09used the Breath of the Wild intro for their Chinese New Year special program&#8230; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/McbuHSWVw7\">pic.twitter.com\/McbuHSWVw7<\/a><\/span>\u2014 Chinese Nintendo (@chinesenintendo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/chinesenintendo\/status\/1093409007480365056?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 7, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Users on Chinese social media platform, <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.weibo.com\/1671503255\/HfxVfaEQF?type=comment\">Weibo<\/a>, have been discussing the legality of the music being played. It&#8217;s rare to see a piece of a video game music be officially licensed for other uses, and many suspect that Beijing Media may have simply used the piece without permission.
