Pok\u00e9mon Crystal coming to Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS on Jan. 26<\/h2>\n

When it launched in Japan 17 years ago, Pok\u00e9mon Crystal<\/a><\/em> introduced many new and exciting elements to the beloved Pok\u00e9mon franchise. The game, an expanded version of the popular Pok\u00e9mon Gold<\/a><\/em> and Pok\u00e9mon Silver<\/a><\/em> games, was the first in the Pok\u00e9mon franchise to allow players to choose between a boy or girl playable character, as well as being the first game to introduce animations during Pok\u00e9mon battles.<\/p>\n

Now this groundbreaking game is coming to Nintendo eShop on the Nintendo 3DS<\/a> family of systems on Jan. 26 for only $9.99.*<\/p>\n

On the day it launches, Pok\u00e9mon Crystal<\/em> will also be compatible with Pok\u00e9mon Bank, a paid service that lets players bring select Pok\u00e9mon from classic core games to the newest core games in the series. With the addition of Pok\u00e9mon Crystal<\/em> to this service, it is now possible for players to bring Pok\u00e9mon from all 29 core games in the series to Pok\u00e9mon Ultra Sun<\/a><\/em> and Pok\u00e9mon Ultra Moon<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

In this version of Pok\u00e9mon Crystal<\/em>, players will also have the chance to encounter the mythical Pok\u00e9mon Celebi in an event after completing the game. In the original Pok\u00e9mon Crystal<\/em> game, Celebi could only be obtained by using a special accessory.<\/p>\n

As with the Nintendo eShop editions of Pok\u00e9mon Gold<\/em> and Pok\u00e9mon Silver<\/em>, Pok\u00e9mon Crystal<\/em> will take advantage of the wireless communication capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, allowing players to enjoy Link Trades and Link Battles with each other. With the Time Capsule feature, players can even trade and battle Pok\u00e9mon from Pok\u00e9mon Red<\/a><\/em>, Pok\u00e9mon Blue<\/a> and Pok\u00e9mon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition<\/a><\/em>, which are all also available in Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS.<\/p>\n

Fans also have the option to play Pok\u00e9mon Crystal<\/em> on a New Nintendo 2DS XL system that resembles an iconic Pok\u00e9 Ball. The Pok\u00e9 Ball Edition New Nintendo 2DS XL<\/a> system can be purchased in stores at a suggested retail price of $159.99. (The Pok\u00e9mon Crystal<\/em> game and Pok\u00e9 Ball Edition New Nintendo 2DS XL system are sold separately.)<\/p>\n
