On the digital front, it\u2019s much the same, with classic wallpapers and screensavers somewhat a thing of the past.<\/p>\n<p>If you are in need of a digital retro fix, Nintendo preservation specialist \u201c<a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/forestillusion?lang=en\">The Forest of Illusion<\/a>\u201d has uploaded a lovely Japanese Super Mario Collection screensaver set to the internet archive, with the help of a <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RockLeeVk\">few others<\/a>. This set was originally released by Nintendo as a CD-ROM for Microsoft Windows in 1997 and contains a total of six screensavers. Take a look at the original CD case and disc in the above and below photos.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"picture strip\"><a title=\"Mario 2\" href=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/39e5c811e1a90\/mario-2.original.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/39e5c811e1a90\/mario-2.900x.jpg\" alt=\"Mario 2\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"picture strip\"><a title=\"Mario 3\" href=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/b2bc449026d43\/mario-3.original.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/b2bc449026d43\/mario-3.900x.jpg\" alt=\"Mario 3\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>In addition to screensavers, which you can see for yourself over on the <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/1997YutakaSuperMarioCollectionScreensaver\">internet archive<\/a>, wallpapers and programs have also been uploaded. These include Mario themed calculators and clocks. The downside is these particular programs only work properly with a Japanese version of Windows 3.1, 95 or Windows 98.
