Organizers of the 2019\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gdconf.com\/?_mc=blog_x_gama_le_x_gdcsf_x_x-GDC19\">Game Developers Conference<\/a>\u00a0just wanted to quickly let you know about a really exciting talk at the show that&#8217;s all about how Bethesda&#8217;s new mobile\u00a0<em>Elder Scrolls\u00a0<\/em>game was designed to look great on a small screen.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the popular GDC 2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/gdconf.com\/summit\/game-ux\">UX Summit<\/a>, Bethesda&#8217;s own Marie Jasmin\u00a0will be presenting a neat session on\u00a0&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/schedule.gdconf.com\/session\/building-the-interface-of-the-elder-scrolls-blades-in-landscape-and-portrait\/862633\">Building the Interface of &#8216;<em>The Elder Scrolls: Blades<\/em>&#8216; in Landscape and Portrait<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>There was no clear demand for a game that switches seamlessly between the two orientation methods, but Bethesda decided to design a game that adapted to both anyway. Why? Come out to Jasmin&#8217;s talk and you&#8217;ll get the answer, as well as a clear understanding of the benefits, the costs, the UX opportunities, and the overall level of commitment necessary to build a game UI that fully supports device orientation changes at any time.
