During the 37th\u00a0Nasdaq\u00a0Investor Conference which took place on December 5th, CFO of Electronic Arts Blake J. Jorgensen\u00a0spoke about the percentage of players who spent\u00a0money on EA Sports’ Ultimate Team\u00a0<\/em>mode.<\/p>\n

According to Jorgensen, “about 70-75 percent\u00a0of all the people that buy the sports games join Ultimate Team.” He goes on to say that of those 75 percent, about half of those players\u00a0end up spending money on Ultimate Team<\/em> microtransactions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

While the conversion rate provided is unusually high for a free-to-play game,\u00a0it’s not EA’s first success with Ultimate Team<\/em>. Former Bioware\u00a0dev Jesse Houston cited<\/a> FIFA Ultimate Team specifically when designing Mass Effect 3<\/em>‘s loot box system.\u00a0<\/p>\n
