{"id":70111,"date":"2018-12-19T20:49:00","date_gmt":"2018-12-19T20:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/333303"},"modified":"2018-12-19T20:49:00","modified_gmt":"2018-12-19T20:49:00","slug":"343-industries-is-teaming-up-with-limbitless-to-provide-halo-themed-prosthetics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sickgaming.net\/blog\/2018\/12\/19\/343-industries-is-teaming-up-with-limbitless-to-provide-halo-themed-prosthetics\/","title":{"rendered":"343 Industries is teaming up with Limbitless to provide Halo-themed prosthetics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Halo<\/em> developer 343 Industries announced earlier today that it\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/halo\/status\/1075421347012984832?s=21\">is partnering<\/a> with Limbitless\u00a0Solutions, a non-profit providing\u00a0prosthetic limbs for\u00a0children, to offer <em>Halo<\/em>-themed &#8220;Bionic Arm&#8221; prosthetics to young kids.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is yet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/317775\/Pink_Mercy_skin_comes_to_Overwatch_all_proceeds_go_to_charity.php\">another<\/a> heartwarming <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/329007\/Call_of_Duty_Black_Ops_4_introduces_special_ingame_items_to_support_veterans.php\">example<\/a> of studios collaborating with important organizations to help those in need, and it&#8217;s always important to highlight the good work being done.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The studio explained the partnership <a href=\"https:\/\/www.343industries.com\/news\/articles\/limbitless-343-collaboration\">in a blog post<\/a>, explaining how it was born from the desire to inspire and help others.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are, however, times where opportunities to inspire heroes\u00a0and deliver wonder present themselves\u00a0<em>outside<\/em>\u00a0the scope of game code, cutscene scripts, or sandbox balancing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The 3D-printed\u00a0Limbitless\u00a0Bionic Arm prosthetics are functional and cost effective.\u00a0Best of all, the non-profit organization\u00a0donates their\u00a0prosthetic arms completely free of charge to recipients and their families.<\/p>\n<p>As for where <em>Halo<\/em> comes in, beginning in 2019, Limbitless will add two special <em>Halo<\/em>-themed options to their lineup of designs for their 3D-printed Bionic Arms, with the first being\u00a0a recreation of the Master Chief\u2019s own Mk.
