In accordance with last week’s Thanksgiving holiday many retailers held Black Friday\/Cyber Monday\/Tubular Tuesday sales events, and now analytics data suggests\u00a0Nintendo’s Switch was the top-selling item across many online storefronts — even though Nintendo didn’t mark down the price.<\/p>\n

It’s a nice bit of positive press for Nintendo, one that\u00a0suggests devs\u00a0mulling a Switch release\u00a0can count on the number of Switch owners (and thus, potential customers)\u00a0continuing to expand throughout the year and into 2018.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to Adobe’s Digital Insights analytics platform<\/a>, which claims to measure\u00a080 percent\u00a0of online transactions at the largest 100 U.S. web retailers, the Switch was the top-selling item across all (surveyed) online retailers on the 23rd (U.S. Thanksgiving), the 24th (Black Friday), and the 27th (Cyber Monday). On Saturday the 26th it was #4, and on Sunday Adobe Digital Insights evidently rested.<\/p>\n

In a note to clients that Business Insider<\/a>\u00a0picked up, Jefferies’ Atul Guyal\u00a0called out Adobe’s Digital Insights data\u00a0and stated that “this strong sales is going to create a robust installed base, which is where games software will monetize over the next 5-7 years.”<\/p>\n

Earlier this month Nintendo chief Tatsumi Kimishima told investors<\/a> that strong holiday\u00a0sales were key to getting the Switch up past the 10 million sold mark, which he felt was critical to ensuring it\u00a0achieves success on par with the Wii.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
