The GNOME Web browser, simply named Web (aka Epiphany)\u00a0 has an awesome feature that allows you to &#8216;install&#8217; a web application. By doing this, the web application is then presented in the applications menus, GNOME shell search, and is a separate item when switching windows. This short tutorial walks you through the steps of &#8216;installing&#8217; a web application with GNOME Web.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-23287\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Install GNOME Web<\/h3>\n<p>GNOME Web is not included in the default Fedora install. To install, search in the Software application for &#8216;web&#8217;, and install.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23536\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sickgaming.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/standalone-web-applications-with-gnome-web.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1264\" height=\"908\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, use the following command in the terminal:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo dnf install epiphany<\/pre>\n<h3>Install as Web Application<\/h3>\n<p>Next, launch GNOME Web, and browse to the web application you wish to install. Connect to the application using the browser, and choose &#8216;Install site as Web Application&#8217; from the menu:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23537\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sickgaming.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/standalone-web-applications-with-gnome-web-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1073\" height=\"872\" \/><\/p>\n<p>GNOME Web next presents a dialog to edit the name of the application. Either leave it as the default (the URL) or change to something more descriptive:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23538\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sickgaming.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/standalone-web-applications-with-gnome-web-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1075\" height=\"866\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Finally, press <strong>Create <\/strong>to &#8216;install&#8217; your new web application. After creating the web application, close GNOME Web.<\/p>\n<h3>Using the new web application<\/h3>\n<p>Launch the web application as you would with any typical desktop application.
