This is a misunderstanding. What actually happens is you get one of a few special Eevee including Ditto Eevee, Team Rocket Eevee and costume Eevee <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zoL01ov1i6\">https:\/\/t.co\/zoL01ov1i6<\/a><\/span>\u2014 Joe Merrick (@JoeMerrick) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JoeMerrick\/status\/1065170733666627585?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 21, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/aside>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Original Story:<\/strong> Not so long ago, we reported on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2018\/11\/rumour_looks_like_were_getting_the_tamagotchi_and_pokemon_crossover_weve_always_dreamed_of\">rumours<\/a> that the unthinkable was about to happen &#8211; two &#8217;90s icons, <strong>Pok\u00e9mon<\/strong> and <strong>Tamagotchi<\/strong>, were <em>joining forces.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve now had official confirmation from Japan that this is indeed the real deal, and the Eevee Tamagotchi will launch in Japan on January 26th next year.<\/p>\n<p>As was previously reported, the device will come in two flavours: &#8220;I Love Eevee&#8221; and &#8220;Color Friends&#8221;; both have the same core features but showcase different case designs.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"picture strip\">\n<div class=\"img\"><a title=\"Tamagotchi Eevee Nov212018 2\" href=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/05304f7e5ae6c\/tamagotchi-eevee-nov212018-2.original.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/05304f7e5ae6c\/tamagotchi-eevee-nov212018-2.900x.jpg\" alt=\"Tamagotchi Eevee Nov212018 2\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>The objective is to raise an Eevee and make it evolve into one of the famous variants of the Eeveelution family, and you&#8217;ll be able to do the usual Tamagotchi activities, such as feeding, playing and other fun stuff.<\/p>\n<p>The Eevee you look after will be able to express itself with a wide range of emotions, which will help you to form a bond with it over time &#8211; a bond that is handy to have when it starts beeping at you in the middle of a tense business meeting.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"picture strip\">\n<div class=\"img\"><a title=\"Tamagotchi Eevee Nov212018 3\" href=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/2d48b8ad804d9\/tamagotchi-eevee-nov212018-3.original.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/2d48b8ad804d9\/tamagotchi-eevee-nov212018-3.900x.jpg\" alt=\"Tamagotchi Eevee Nov212018 3\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>The big news here for Pok\u00e9mon fans is that the device will have a special, exclusive evolution that can <em>only<\/em> be found on this Tamagotchi.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s no news on this coming to the west at present, but given that Bandai recently made a big deal about the 20th anniversary of Tamagotchi &#8211; and the fact that Pok\u00e9mon is <em>huge<\/em> the world over &#8211; there&#8217;s a chance it could make it outside of Japan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Edit: We&#8217;ve now been told by our Pok\u00e9mon expert Joe Merrick that reports that this special Tamagotchi will feature an exclusive new evolution are actually incorrect: Ok I&#8217;ve seen a lot of people talking about new Eevee evolutions on the Tamagotchi.
