{"id":57094,"date":"2018-10-23T20:41:00","date_gmt":"2018-10-23T20:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/329218"},"modified":"2018-10-23T20:41:00","modified_gmt":"2018-10-23T20:41:00","slug":"ea-origin-access-includes-more-indie-games-in-its-repertoire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sickgaming.net\/blog\/2018\/10\/23\/ea-origin-access-includes-more-indie-games-in-its-repertoire\/","title":{"rendered":"EA Origin Access includes more indie games in its repertoire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last week\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ea.com\/origin-access-latest-updates\">EA announced<\/a>\u00a0its\u00a0new\u00a0collection\u00a0of games available\u00a0to Origin Access subscribers for the month of October, which includes many indie games this time around.<\/p>\n<p>Although the monthly subscription service\u00a0has always included indie games, it&#8217;s great to see that EA is continuing to add different titles to its repertoire, perhaps signaling a desire to move away from including just EA games.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This may be in response to the other monthly subscription services popping up and providing competition, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/328737\/Discord_game_marketplace_and_subscription_service_enter_global_beta.php\">with\u00a0Discord<\/a> being the\u00a0latest company to offer a similar subscription service\u00a0offering a large catalog of indie titles.<\/p>\n<p>Games added this month include titles like\u00a0<em>Cosmic S<\/em><em>tar Heroine, Project Highrise\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Opus Magnum.\u00a0<\/em>Compared to August, which saw a lot of EA titles like <em>Madden NFL 19, The Sims 4, A Way Out, and Unravel Two,\u00a0<\/em>there&#8217;s a wider range of indie games being featured.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week\u00a0EA announced\u00a0its\u00a0new\u00a0collection\u00a0of games available\u00a0to Origin Access subscribers for the month of October, which includes many indie games this time around.
