{"id":52028,"date":"2018-10-02T19:57:00","date_gmt":"2018-10-02T19:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/327797"},"modified":"2018-10-02T19:57:00","modified_gmt":"2018-10-02T19:57:00","slug":"pubg-has-banned-13-million-cheating-players-to-date","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sickgaming.net\/blog\/2018\/10\/02\/pubg-has-banned-13-million-cheating-players-to-date\/","title":{"rendered":"PUBG has banned 13 million cheating players to date"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>PlayerUnknown\u2019s Battlegrounds<\/em> has banned over 13 million players since the game&#8217;s publisher started sharing ban numbers in June 2017.<\/p>\n<p>That 13 million figure comes courtesy of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/PUBATTLEGROUNDS\/comments\/9kotf0\/bluehole_banned_13million_cheaters_so_far\/\">Reddit post<\/a> spotted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/articles\/2018-10-02-13-million-pubg-cheaters-have-been-banned-so-far\">Eurogamer<\/a> that added up (and made a nifty chart out of) the publicly disclosed ban numbers that PUBG Corp\u2019s parent company Bluehole shares online.<\/p>\n<p>The data, and the resulting graph, offers developers a slightly more detailed look at the war <em>PlayerUnknown\u2019s Battlegrounds<\/em> has been fighting against cheaters since the game kicked off the current battle royale boom.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Those 13 million permanent bans have been dished out across 69 weekly waves of bans. The original post from the Reddit user sjk045 features a spreadsheet of each week\u2019s ban numbers as well that shows a peak of 1,010,163 cheaters banned during Bluehole\u2019s 42nd weekly ban session.<\/p>\n<p>The post also notes that this latest week, week 69, is the only time since week 25 that under 100,000 cheaters have been caught and banned.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sickgaming.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/pubg-has-banned-13-million-cheating-players-to-date.png\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PlayerUnknown\u2019s Battlegrounds has banned over 13 million players since the game&#8217;s publisher started sharing ban numbers in June 2017.
