Aside from admiring the lovely footage being shown off for the new Champions League mode (a first for FIFA following the expiration of the deal with Konami&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>PES<\/strong>), we couldn&#8217;t help but notice several\u00a0<em>completely<\/em> in-your-face<em>\u00a0<\/em>advertisements for the PS4 Pro.<\/p>\n<p>The hosts kick off with a\u00a0match at around the <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/98tYYTPWVXw?t=5m32s\">5:32 mark<\/a>, jumping right into a custom Champions League game between Limerick FC and Paris Saint-Germain. As you can see, dotted around the edge of the pitch on the advertisement boards are several ads for the PS4 Pro innocently sitting amongst the likes of Pepsi and Mastercard, slyly tempting Switch fans to jump ship and play on Sony&#8217;s machine instead.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"object object-youtube\">\n<div class=\"youtube\">[embedded content]<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>You might think that these adverts would be removed on consoles other than those in the PlayStation family, but FIFA stays true to real-life advertising and branding, taking on the real sponsorships on the team&#8217;s shirts, footwear, and &#8211; <em>yes<\/em> &#8211; advertising boards. Sony sponsors the Champions League in real life, so FIFA naturally honours this agreement in the game; the branding will be present across <em>all<\/em> versions. Still, while the logic is bulletproof, there&#8217;s something <em>very<\/em> odd about Nintendo streaming an advert for a rival console.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"picture strip\">\n<div class=\"img\"><a title=\"Screen Shot 2018 08 23 At 16.16.33\" href=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/cef4727f4596a\/screen-shot-2018-08-23-at-16-16-33.original.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/cef4727f4596a\/screen-shot-2018-08-23-at-16-16-33.original.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2018 08 23 At 16.16.33\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Once you get past the initial shock of it all, however, you may well actually enjoy the thirty minutes or so of FIFA action on Switch. It certainly looks a lot like <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/fifa_18\">FIFA 18<\/a><\/strong>, but there appear\u00a0to be a number of improvements under the hood &#8211; the fancy new Champions League mode being one obvious example.<\/p>\n<p>Feel free to sit back, relax, and take in the next instalment of EA&#8217;s mega-franchise\u00a0on Switch.<\/p>\n<p><em>Will you be grabbing yourself a copy of FIFA 19?
