There&#8217;s quite a range of titles discussed this time around &#8211; although that pesky Square Enix RPG has cropped up a fair few times once again &#8211; so sit back, enjoy, and join in the discussion!<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Dom Reseigh-Lincoln, reviewer<\/h2>\n<p>This weekend I&#8217;ll be continuing my review playthrough of the upcoming <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/state_of_mind\"><strong>State of Mind<\/strong><\/a> on Nintendo Switch, a narrative-driven trip into a future Berlin where technology has transformed our everyday lives &#8211; you can look out for my review next week on Nintendo Life.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll also be starting a new run of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/flipping_death\"><strong>Flipping Death<\/strong><\/a>. I honestly can&#8217;t express how much I&#8217;ve enjoyed playing this game. Seriously, what&#8217;s better than solving puzzles and helping the local community via the medium of light-hearted death? Love it to *ahem* death.<\/p>\n<h2>Austin Voigt, contributing writer<\/h2>\n<p>Sometimes admitting my weekend gaming plans to everyone reminds me of going to confession at my Catholic elementary school&#8230; Ah well, here we go: I\u2019ll be finishing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/legend_of_zelda_breath_of_the_wild\"><strong>Breath of the Wild<\/strong><\/a> this weekend. There, I said it. I have no shame. I defeated Calamity Ganon &amp; most of the main storyline last year &#8211; but apparently, that was only worth 33.8% of the game. So now it\u2019s been staring at me, incomplete, for months. Haunting me, really. It\u2019s time to put this game to rest once and for all, and that\u2019s what I\u2019ll be up to this weekend &#8211; battling the ghosts of my gaming past. Also, waiting patiently for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/switch-eshop\/little_dragons_cafe\"><strong>Little Dragons Cafe<\/strong><\/a> to release in a few weeks.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"object object-youtube\">\n<div class=\"youtube\">[embedded content]<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<h2>Glen Fox, guides editor<\/h2>\n<p>I gave up on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/switch-eshop\/axiom_verge\"><strong>Axiom Verge<\/strong><\/a> in the final section when I encountered a pretty sizeable difficulty spike. I\u2019m not usually one to shy away from difficulty, but I\u2019d found the experience quite frustrating up to that point. It\u2019s pretty difficult generally, and getting around was a bit too slow. I know it harkens back to\u00a0Metroidvania\u00a0classics, but I personally prefer some of the modern trimmings in games like fast travel and the like. A very good and respectable effort but ultimately not to my tastes.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/switch-eshop\/golf_story\"><strong \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Golf Story, on the other hand, is an absolute treat. I booted that up after falling out with Axiom Verge and have struggled to put it down since. It really feels like a Mario game, with golf instead of platforming. You run around these gorgeous golf courts helping people out for cash. The challenges are so varied and it helps that hitting a golf ball feels so sweet \u2013 you want to do it at every opportunity you can. I\u2019ll no doubt spend most of the weekend playing this because I\u2019m well and truly hooked.<\/p>\n<h2>Gon\u00e7alo Lopes, contributing writer<\/h2>\n<p>Upon utterly defeating my unsuspecting opponents in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/dragon_ball_fighterz\"><strong>Dragon Ball FighterZ<\/strong><\/a>&#8216;s online open beta, it is JRPG business as usual. I&#8217;ll resume\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/octopath_traveler\"><strong>Octopath Traveler<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0where I left off last weekend, will resist the urge to start a new playthrough of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/switch-eshop\/okami_hd\"><strong>Okami HD<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and will mop up the remaining battlefields in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/valkyria_chronicles_4\"><strong>Valkyria Chronicles 4<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0demo.<\/p>\n<p>The addictive loot-fetching shenanigans of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/titan_quest\"><strong>Titan Quest<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0found a new natural home on my Switch rotation and the dream-state inducing\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/switch-eshop\/megaton_rainfall\"><strong>Megaton Rainfall<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0proceeds to leave me in awe. There are no less than nine new characters to master in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/blazblue_cross_tag_battle\"><strong>BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle<\/strong><\/a>. I also continue hooked on GameCube\u2019s mecha combat arcade simulator\u00a0<strong>Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs Z Gundam.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For as far as I can recall in my whole gaming life, I do not remember being so far spoiled for choice in the month of August. And as they say, the best is yet to come&#8230;<\/p>\n<aside class=\"object object-youtube\">\n<div class=\"youtube\">[embedded content]<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<h2>Ryan Craddock, staff writer<\/h2>\n<p>Despite half intending to get stuck into the\u00a0<strong>Octopath\u00a0Traveler<\/strong>\u00a0demo last weekend, I never actually got around to doing anything about it. Maybe this week? Maybe not. We shall have to wait and see on that one. The problem is that I&#8217;d want to really sit down and have a nice, lengthy playthrough to kick things off and finding time to do that can be tricky.<\/p>\n<p>Other games that keep nagging me to play them at the moment are\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/gbc\/pokemon_yellow_version_special_pikachu_edition\"><strong>Pok\u00e9mon Yellow<\/strong><\/a>, thanks to seeing all of the new\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/pokemon_lets_go_pikachu_and_lets_go_eevee\"><strong>Pok\u00e9mon: Let&#8217;s Go, Pikachu and Let&#8217;s Go, Eevee!<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0trailers recently, and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nes\/castlevania\"><strong>Castlevania<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0on the NES Mini, thanks to the recent Simon and Richter Belmont reveal in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/super_smash_bros_ultimate\"><strong>Super Smash\u00a0Bros. Ultimate<\/strong><\/a>. So many games, so little time&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2>Dave Letcavage<\/h2>\n<p>This weekend I\u2019ve got non-Nintendo review-related responsibilities to focus on, and that\u2019s going to devour the majority of my time. But if all goes well, I\u2019m hoping to either get back to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/mario_tennis_aces\"><strong>Mario Tennis Aces<\/strong><\/a>, start <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/dead_cells\">Dead Cells<\/a><\/strong>, work in a few rounds of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/arms\"><strong>ARMS<\/strong><\/a>, or maybe finally open that copy of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/kirby_star_allies\"><strong>Kirby Star Allies<\/strong><\/a> that\u2019s been neglected for so long. I haven\u2019t been playing my Switch as much as I\u2019d like lately, and I aim to do something to change that. Oh, and I almost forgot about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/3ds-eshop\/phoenix_wright_ace_attorney_-_spirit_of_justice\"><strong>Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice<\/strong><\/a>. I had started that, hadn\u2019t I? Oops. Maybe that gets priority here \u2013 after review duties, of course.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"object object-youtube\">\n<div class=\"youtube\">[embedded content]<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<h2>Dave Frear, retro reviewer<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Dragon Ball FighterZ<\/strong>\u00a0is a game that\u2019s caught my interest and\u00a0having\u00a0not played it on anything else yet, I might as well take advantage of the open beta that\u2019s running for part of this weekend. Other than that it\u2019s more\u00a0<strong>Octopath Traveler<\/strong>. I\u2019ve not had the\u00a0chance to play since beginning my adventure last weekend so I\u2019m keen to get back to it. I currently have a party of four and they are all proving useful in various ways. Perhaps not so much with Cyrus, but he\u2019s a relative newcomer to the group in need of some levelling.\u00a0Olberic\u00a0seems the\u00a0most handy\u00a0of the group in battle and I enjoy challenging random villagers to duels, although I miss the early days when he was quite\u00a0under-powered\u00a0and would lose to pretty much anyone. That wasn\u2019t particularly helpful to the group, but it was amusing.<\/p>\n<h2>Richard Atkinson, contributing writer<\/h2>\n<p>Now that I&#8217;ve (very almost) finished writing up a review for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/switch-eshop\/guns_gore_and_cannoli_2\"><strong>Guns, Gore &amp; Cannoli 2<\/strong><\/a>, the time has finally come to battle my ever-growing back catalogue of titles to revisit. This writer has promised himself not to purchase any more eShop delights until some games have had a better look in! To start things off, I&#8217;ll be transforming a well-known plumber into a moustachioed dinosaur, basking in the sun while swimming in soda water and braving the fiery pits of colourful soup in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/super_mario_odyssey\"><strong>Super Mario Odyssey<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in an attempt to grab some of those all-important Moons.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0this\u00a0rather predictably quiet time of the year for new releases &#8211;\u00a0<strong>Octopath Traveler<\/strong>\u00a0not included &#8211; now is the perfect opportunity to jump back into the games we love and lose ourselves once again in those that we may have rushed through the first time around. Saying\u00a0that,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/switch-eshop\/paladins_-_founders_pack\"><strong>Paladins<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0+ Discord makes for some entertaining evenings with my online friends from across the globe so I&#8217;ll be honing my skills on that too.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"object object-youtube\">\n<div class=\"youtube\">[embedded content]<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<h2>Liam Doolan, news reporter<\/h2>\n<p>This weekend I\u2019ll be training myself in\u00a0<strong>Dragon Ball FighterZ<\/strong>. I played the existing versions on release, so I\u2019m keen to see how the Switch counterpart compares to the competition. My favourite characters in the full game are Trunks, Beerus and normally one of the God tier Saiyans. From what I have experienced so far, the Nintendo iteration feels fast and frenetic. One other game I\u2019m planning to give some time to is\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/switch-eshop\/hollow_knight\"><strong>Hollow Knight<\/strong><\/a>. I recall beating Hornet and I admittedly have not been back since.
