{"id":3600,"date":"2017-10-27T17:51:00","date_gmt":"2017-10-27T17:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/308334"},"modified":"2017-10-27T17:51:00","modified_gmt":"2017-10-27T17:51:00","slug":"apply-now-to-be-a-gdc-2018-conference-associate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sickgaming.net\/blog\/2017\/10\/27\/apply-now-to-be-a-gdc-2018-conference-associate\/","title":{"rendered":"Apply now to be a GDC 2018 Conference Associate!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Are you someone who&#8217;s eager to help the 2018\u00a0Game Developers Conference go off without a hitch, and get free entry to boot?<\/p>\n<p>Then you should consider <a href=\"http:\/\/www.calounge.com\/application.php\">applying now to be a\u00a0volunteer Conference Associate (CA)<\/a>, because you can earn the equivalent of an All-Access Pass by putting in roughly\u00a025\u00a0hours of on-site work!<\/p>\n<p>Next year\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gdconf.com?_mc=blog_x_gama_le_tspr_gdcsf_x_x-gdc18\">GDC 2018<\/a>\u00a0runs from Monday, March 19th through Friday, March 23rd. Applicants who are chosen to be\u00a0Conference Associates will be given\u00a0pre-conference assignments and asked to attend a required orientation dinner on Sunday, March 18th. This is a paid position, so you must be eligible to work in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, those accepted into the program are\u00a0expected to be on-site during conference hours\u00a0from the start of your pre-conference assignments through the end of the conference on the evening of Friday, March 23rd.<\/p>\n<p>What will you be doing, you ask? CA duties may include guarding doors and scanning badges, monitoring sessions, answering attendees&#8217; questions, and more. In your free time, you will be able to use your All-Access pass to do things like attend talks or visit the Expo floor.<\/p>\n<p>To apply, head over to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.calounge.com\/application.php\">the GDC 2018\u00a0CA application page<\/a>\u00a0and read the instructions. <strong>The deadline for applications closes at 11:59 PM\u00a0PDT, December 22nd, 2017!<\/strong>\u00a0Applicants will be notified if they are accepted (or not) by January 11th.<\/p>\n<p>Applications submitted after the positions are filled will be offered the opportunity to be put on the waiting list.
