After months of hard work, we\u2019re proud to have finally brought Chaos to the Xbox One with the release of Warhammer: Vermintide 2<\/em><\/strong><\/a>. It\u2019s a 4-player co-op action game designed to be played together with friends in a fun and challenging setting. The game is set in a vast universe with rich history which has greatly influenced how the game looks and feels.<\/p>\n

Vermintide 2<\/em> takes place in and around the fortress town of Helmgart, nestled in the mountain range the Grey Mountains, situated on the border between the Empire and Bretonnia during the End Times, an age in which the world is becoming overrun with various blights seeking chaos and destruction upon all living things.<\/p>\n

\"Vermintide<\/p>\n

The first Vermintide<\/em> game took place in \u00dcbersreik, a town which consisted mostly of dark and gritty places. As we were deciding the direction we wanted to take Warhammer: Vermintide 2 <\/em>in, we concluded that we wanted more variety to the environments the players could visit.<\/p>\n

Righteous Stand<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is one of the very first maps that we revealed in Vermintide 2<\/em>. The main goal was to wow our community with a bright level, strikingly different from our darker themes in the previous game. Before Helmgart fell, it was heavily fortified with guard towers and cannons lining the top of the walls surrounding the city. Up on the ramparts you can see the entire city vista, which was also something we really wanted to show off to our fans.<\/p>\n

\"Vermintide<\/p>\n

Hunger in the Dark<\/strong><\/p>\n

The story of this mission is centered around an abandoned mine, from which its workers had suddenly started disappearing \u2013 leaving behind no trace but gnawed bones. As you progress further into the mine you find that is in fact a troll cave, in which Chaos cultists transform regular trolls into Chaos trolls.<\/p>\n

\"Vermintide<\/p>\n

A lot of inspiration was taken from older mines from the 19th<\/sup> centurynd even older, and the end product became a mix of the two. The general theme of this environment was to create a dark and claustrophobic space, where the darkness of the cave lingers in silent threat of what may lurk further within.<\/p>\n

Empire in Flames<\/strong><\/p>\n

This map takes place in the city of Ussingen, a town known for its sharp Red Cheese. The city has already been razed and plundered by the time you get there, consumed entirely by the forces of the Dark Pact.<\/p>\n

\"Vermintide<\/p>\n

Empire in Flames is a visual representation of the destruction the forces of Chaos intend to deliver to the world and the true evil that they can perform. Using elements such as smoke, collapsed buildings, and a near colorless palette brought the whole impression of the map together.<\/p>\n
