Satya Nadella\u00a0<\/span>recently\u00a0shared<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0our\u00a0vision for the future of computing \u2013 one\u00a0in which\u00a0the intelligent edge and intelligent cloud\u00a0create\u00a0experiences\u00a0where\u00a0trusted\u00a0technology is\u00a0part of\u00a0the fabric of our lives.<\/span>Today at\u00a0Computex\u00a02018,\u00a0joined by executives from Microsoft\u2019s engineering, marketing and research teams,\u00a0I had the opportunity to share\u00a0what\u00a0that vision\u00a0means for\u00a0our device partners.\u00a0The opportunity to leverage artificial intelligence (AI), ubiquitous computing\u00a0and\u00a0Microsoft 365 multi-device and multi-sense experiences has never been greater.\u00a0Together we can\u00a0create\u00a0new, compelling\u00a0devices and\u00a0experiences in the era of\u00a0the\u00a0intelligent\u00a0edge\u00a0and\u00a0intelligent\u00a0cloud.<\/p>\n

To accelerate innovation in this new era we invite all our partners to join our Intelligent\u00a0Edge\u00a0Partner\u00a0Community. The community will help partners connect with one another to identify opportunities to collaborate on technology innovation and achieve shared business goals. In addition, community members will be able to participate in training and community events,\u00a0and can participate in early-adopter programs that provide access to documentation, specs, OS builds and certification details. Today, in Taipei, we announced\u00a0a new category of teamwork devices:\u00a0Windows\u00a0Collaboration Displays. These large, interactive displays will let people experience Microsoft 365 collaboration tools: Office, Teams and Whiteboard at room scale, and include\u00a0built-in sensors that can connect to\u00a0Azure IoT spatial intelligence capabilities<\/strong><\/a>. This incredible technology will allow facility managers to utilize environmental data to make real-time decisions. A variety of collaboration displays, from Sharp and\u00a0Avocor\u00a0will be available later this year.<\/p>\n

We also announced\u00a0Windows 10 IoT Core Services<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0This new service offering enables partners to commercialize a secure Internet of Things (IoT)-device backed by industry-leading support. It provides device makers\u00a0the\u00a0ability to manage updates for the OS, apps, settings and OEM-specific files, and is backed by 10 years of support.<\/p>\n

Advances in ubiquitous computing\u00a0and AI will drive\u00a0the\u00a0intelligent\u00a0cloud and\u00a0intelligent\u00a0edge\u00a0era\u00a0<\/strong>
Every part of our life, our homes, our cars\u00a0and our workplaces are being transformed by\u00a0digital technology. We are seeing this\u00a0in\u00a0every industry and sector of our economy.\u00a0 The era of the\u00a0intelligent\u00a0cloud and\u00a0intelligent\u00a0edge will be driven by advances in ubiquitous computing, artificial intelligence and multi-sense, multi-device experiences.<\/p>\n

First, with ubiquitous computing,\u00a0Azure is being built as the world\u2019s\u00a0largest\u00a0computer\u00a0with\u00a0cloud services from 50 regions around the planet, more than any other cloud provider. Computer scientists at Microsoft have been working on AI technologies for decades. Thanks to the immense computing power of the Azure cloud, access to comprehensive and secure data spanning services such as Bing, Office and LinkedIn, and the AI breakthroughs coming out of our worldwide network of\u00a0research labs<\/strong><\/a>, we are uniquely able to infuse AI into our core products and services.
