The new wording now says:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"7\">\n<p>Three days of Nintendo Switch gameplay with Treehouse members and developers, starting right after the video presentation with Super Smash Bros.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<hr\/>\n<p><strong>Original Story:<\/strong> Ever since Nintendo opted out of the usual E3 press conference circus (something Sony has <a class=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pushsquare.com\/news\/2018\/05\/sony_wont_be_holding_a_traditional_press_conference_at_e3_2018\">followed suit on<\/a> this year), it has seemingly been unable to decide what to call the pre-recorded broadcast that airs during the world&#8217;s biggest gaming show.<\/p>\n<p>In the past we&#8217;ve seen them called &#8220;Digital Events&#8221; and &#8220;Nintendo Directs&#8221;, and this year the company has reverted to the classic naming. Its show will be called \u201cNintendo Direct: E3 2018\u201d, and it will be accompanied by the usual raft of Treehouse streams which focus on individual games. The first of these will be for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch\/super_smash_bros\"><strong>Smash Bros.<\/strong><\/a> on Switch.<\/p>\n<p>While this isn&#8217;t exactly groundbreaking news, at least you now know what to call this year&#8217;s biggest Nintendo-related E3 event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Update: Nintendo has updated its E3 site and has removed any reference to\u00a0\u201cNintendo Direct: E3 2018\u201d.
