The 1000th episode of the <strong>Pok\u00e9mon<\/strong> anime recently aired. The series began in 1997 in Japan, and follows the exploits of Ash Ketchum as he travels the world with the goal of being &#8220;the very best, like no one ever was&#8221;. During that time new monsters have appeared with startling regularity, fierce rivals have bitten the dust and new regions have been explored. Ash has also starred in numerous spin-off movies, directly related to the TV show.<\/p>\n<p>The trouble is, statistically speaking, Ash is a <em>terrible<\/em>\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon trainer &#8211; despite having ample time to <em>git gud<\/em>.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"object object-tweet\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p><span lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">So, with the 1,000 episode of Pokemon on the way, a press release pointed out that Ash has caught 77 Pokemon during the show&#8217;s run. Honestly, that&#8217;s like 300+ hours of training (not counting the hours of the day we don&#8217;t see him training) for 77 PKMN.
