It includes some stability improvements to enhance the overall experience, as well as some language support updates. The Switch has also received an update today, including a redesign to the eShop layout and much more.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re not automatically prompted to install this latest update, you can manually update your system&#8217;s firmware from the system settings. Here&#8217;s the full rundown about these latest patch notes via Nintendo&#8217;s official support page:<\/p>\n<h3><a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/en-americas-support.nintendo.com\/app\/answers\/detail\/a_id\/68473\/~\/system-update-information-for-nintendo-switch%26nbsp%3B2#current\">Nintendo Switch 2 &#8211; Version 22.5.0 (Released 15th June 2026)<\/a><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Added Dutch and Russian to \u201cText to Speech\u201d languages in Accessibility.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Added Dutch and Russian as languages for \u201cChange Speech \u21d4 Text During GameChat\u201d in Accessibility.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>General system stability improvements to enhance the user&#8217;s experience.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/en-americas-support.nintendo.com\/app\/answers\/detail\/a_id\/22525\/~\/nintendo-switch-system-update-information\">Nintendo Switch &#8211; Version 22.5.0 (Released 15th June 2026)<\/a><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The Nintendo eShop layout has been redesigned.<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The Nintendo eShop color will now reflect the theme color if your theme in System Settings is set to \u201cBasic Dark.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><em>User-Verification PIN can now be used to confirm when \u201cAccessing Nintendo eShop\u201d and \u201cUsing Saved Payment Methods.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Added the ability to rewind 10 seconds\/advance 10 seconds with the ZL and ZR Buttons when watching a full screen video in News or Nintendo eShop.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>General system stability improvements to enhance the user&#8217;s experience.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<p>This is the first update Nintendo has released for the Switch and Switch 2 since April 2026. A major system update was also released for the Switch 2 in March of this year, which added &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2026\/03\/psa-switch-2-update-adds-handheld-mode-boost-heres-how-to-use-it\">Handheld Mode Boost<\/a>&#8220;, additional Game Chat features and much more.<\/p>\n<p>Nintendo has also released a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/mobile\/nintendo_music\">Nintendo Music<\/a> update today, adding additional &#8220;Free Roam&#8221; songs from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch-2\/mario-kart-world\">Mario Kart World<\/a> soundtrack. This includes tracks from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nes\/super_mario_bros\">Super Mario Bros.<\/a> 1, 2 and 3 playlists.
