You see, Season 8 is a &#8220;Special Season&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>What does that mean, exactly? Well, this Special Season has its own unique ruleset and rewards, the latter of which will see you loading up on <em>boatloads<\/em> of Mega Shards to use on anything in-game from Mega Stones to EXP. Candy.<\/p>\n<p>As for the rules, only Pok\u00e9mon that were first given Mega Evolutions in Legends: Z-A or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch-2\/pokemon-legends-z-a-mega-dimension\">Mega Dimension<\/a> DLC will be allowed to compete (including Zygarde and Mythical Pok\u00e9mon). All contenders will be automatically set to level 50 during the battles, and, as ever, you&#8217;re not allowed any duplicates on your team.<\/p>\n<p>While there&#8217;s no unique Mega Stone up for grabs in this season, you&#8217;ll be able to grab all of the previous season&#8217;s Mega rewards as you climb the ranks, with Greninjite, Delphoxite, Chesnaughtite, Baxcalibrite, Sceptilite, Swampertite, and Blazikenite available from Rank Y through to S.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ve got until <strong>2nd April<\/strong> to grab the following Mega Shard Season Rewards:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rank A<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mega Shard \u00d7300<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Rank B to Rank E<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mega Shard \u00d7200<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Rank F to Rank R<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mega Shard \u00d7100<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Rank S and Below<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mega Shard \u00d750<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You&#8217;ll find everything you need to know about the latest event and all those that preceded it in our Ranked Battle guide below.<\/p>\n<p><!-- cache: html:nintendolife.com\/ssl\/pokemon\/related-articles:192564 @ 1773397735 --><\/p>\n<aside class=\"block object-related\"> <\/aside>\n<p><em>Will you be taking part in this Special Ranked Battle season?
