{"id":136246,"date":"2026-02-28T05:45:00","date_gmt":"2026-02-28T05:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/#article-198107"},"modified":"2026-02-28T05:45:00","modified_gmt":"2026-02-28T05:45:00","slug":"video-resident-evil-requiem-side-by-side-comparison-switch-2-ps5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sickgaming.net\/blog\/2026\/02\/28\/video-resident-evil-requiem-side-by-side-comparison-switch-2-ps5\/","title":{"rendered":"Video: Resident Evil Requiem Side-By-Side Comparison (Switch 2 &amp; PS5)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"media_block\"><a href=\"https:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/a069102113481\/large.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/a069102113481\/small.jpg\" class=\"media_thumbnail\"><\/a><\/div>\n<aside class=\"object object-youtube\">\n<figure class=\"youtube with-primis\" data-videoid=\"8izgK3xQHWY\" data-start=\"0\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8izgK3xQHWY?rel=0&amp;hd=1&amp;showinfo=0&amp;modestbranding=0&amp;autohide=1\"><\/figure>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Capcom has done a great job with the Switch 2 port of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch-2\/resident-evil-requiem\">Resident Evil Requiem<\/a>, but if you&#8217;re still debating about it and the PlayStation 5 release, you&#8217;ve come to the right place.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/8izgK3xQHWY\">shared a side-by-side comparison<\/a> of the game running on the Switch 2 and the PS5 Pro, and as you can see, the wizards behind other Switch 2 ports like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch-2\/street-fighter-6-years-1-2-fighters-edition\">Street Fighter 6<\/a> have done it again!<\/p>\n<p>As <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalfoundry.net\/reviews\/dlss-is-the-game-changer-for-resident-evil-requiems-impressive-switch-2-port?utm_campaign=related-articles&amp;utm_medium=web&amp;utm_source=nintendolife.com&amp;utm_content=in-article\">Digital Foundry<\/a> mentioned in its own technical analysis, the Switch 2 is running a low internal resolution in docked but this version and the PS5 release actually end up comparing &#8220;fairly equivocally&#8221;, and it&#8217;s all thanks to DLSS.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>Digital Foundry:<\/strong> On paper, a 540p image blown up to 1080p on a modern flat panel display doesn&#8217;t sound great. However, DLSS looks surprisingly competitive. Fine detail like wires and fences can actually appear more temporally stable on Switch 2, while PS5&#8217;s spatial upscaling solution (likely FSR1 or similar) looks noisier and less refined in motion. PS5 still wins overall on clarity, aided by its higher internal resolution and 4K UI (Switch 2 uses a 1080p UI), but the gap is much narrower than raw pixel counts would suggest.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In terms of cutbacks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2026\/02\/digital-foundry-delivers-its-tech-analysis-of-resident-evil-requiem-on-switch-2-capcom-deserves-kudos-for-this-port\">as previously noted<\/a>, geometry is pared back in the Switch 2 version and there are lower-quality textures.
