It&#8217;s the official announcement of the new game project &#8220;<strong>AGE 1000<\/strong>&#8220;. This title, which will get an official name at a later date, has been in development for &#8220;about 6 to 7 years now including the initial concept phase&#8221;. It features a new &#8220;never-before-seen world and characters&#8221; from legend and series <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/features\/akira-toriyama-the-dragon-ball-dragon-quest-and-chrono-trigger-artist-that-inspired-the-world\">creator Akira Toriyama<\/a>, who passed away in 2024.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Toriyama-sensei has been heavily involved in this AGE1000 project, in its world-building, characters, and many other aspects.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>AGE 1000 is currently &#8220;set for 2027&#8221;, although no platforms have been revealed at this point in time. As for the details about this story, the team was willing to say much at this stage, but &#8216;AGE&#8217; refers to the year in the Dragon Ball world. There&#8217;s already <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/PS5\/comments\/1qm6ekl\/comment\/o1jvyhv\/\">plenty of speculation<\/a> about the game as well.<\/p>\n<p>Dragon Ball fans can expect more information about this game at Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026, which kicks off in April.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"picture\" data-uuid=\"2df8bce7b51fc\"><a class=\"scanlines\" title=\"Dragon Ball Age 1000\" href=\"https:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/2df8bce7b51fc\/dragon-ball-age-1000.large.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/2df8bce7b51fc\/dragon-ball-age-1000.900x.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Dragon Ball Age 1000\"><\/a><figcaption class=\"caption\"><em class=\"credit\"><span class><\/span> Image: Bandai Namco<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In some other Dragon Ball video game news, Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft have announced new &#8220;major&#8221; DLC for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch-2\/dragon-ball-sparking-zero\">DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO<\/a>. More details about the Switch and Switch 2 release will be revealed in the future. For now, here&#8217;s a brief description and trailer:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Super Saiyan Bardock, Super Android 17 (GT), Great Demon King Piccolo, and more will be joining the lineup of playable characters! Plus, customizations for skills and outfits, new stages, and a new single player mode are planned to be added!<\/p>\n<p>This fabulous DLC is scheduled for release on PlayStation\u00ae5, Xbox Series X|S, and STEAM\u00ae in summer 2026, with more details on the Nintendo Switch\u2122 and Nintendo Switch\u2122 2 release to come!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<aside class=\"object object-youtube\">\n<figure class=\"youtube\" data-videoid=\"SZhl5-ag0tA\" data-start=\"0\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SZhl5-ag0tA?rel=0&amp;hd=1&amp;showinfo=0&amp;modestbranding=0&amp;autohide=1\"><\/figure>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Ahead of this new DLC, there&#8217;ll also be some free updates. This includes &#8216;Mission 100&#8217; mode (&#8220;where you use your favourite characters to challenge and clear various missions&#8221;) and &#8216;Survival Mode&#8217;. The &#8216;Mission 100&#8217; mode will arrive on 26th January 2026 on other platforms, and &#8216;Survival Mode&#8217; is currently scheduled for Spring.<\/p>\n<p>This new DLC will arrive later on the Switch and Switch 2, with <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/store\/products\/dragon-ball-sparking-zero-hero-of-justice-pack-70050000060002-switch\/\">DLC 1<\/a> also scheduled for Winter 2026 and <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/store\/products\/dragon-ball-sparking-zero-dragon-ball-daima-character-pack-1-70050000060109-switch\/\">DLC 2<\/a>, <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/store\/products\/dragon-ball-sparking-zero-dlc-3-70050000060111-switch\/\">DLC 3<\/a>, and <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/store\/products\/dragon-ball-sparking-zero-shallot-dragon-ball-legends-70050000060113-switch\/\">Extra DLC<\/a> arriving in Spring 2026.
