They state that requesting the OSM product code returns an image of the Switch 2, while folks over on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.resetera.com\/threads\/potential-new-switch-2-model-osm-discovered-on-nintendos-internal-website.1407796\/\">ResetEra<\/a> claim that any other code results in an error message.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"object object-bsky-post\"><!-- cache: oembed\/https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/dootsky.re\/post\/3mcgz3nkmzl2i @ 2026-01-16T13:19:39+00:00 --><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bluesky-embed\" data-bluesky-uri=\"at:\/\/did:plc:xykfeb7ieeo335g3aly6vev4\/app.bsky.feed.post\/3mcgz3nkmzl2i\" data-bluesky-cid=\"bafyreidmgo7qsogwmr4o5smjssa5pseeofcswhq5zjsop34kqnu2vk5dz4\">\n<p lang=\"en\">I think I&#8217;ve discovered something interesting, but I have no idea what it implies: On Nintendo&#8217;s Account Portal, there&#8217;s an unused model code under the name &#8220;OSM&#8221;. (The Switch 2&#8217;s model code is BEE.) The portal has images for each Switch model, and requesting OSM returns an image of a Switch 2.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/did:plc:xykfeb7ieeo335g3aly6vev4?ref_src=embed\">sky :3 (@dootsky.re)<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/did:plc:xykfeb7ieeo335g3aly6vev4\/post\/3mcgz3nkmzl2i?ref_src=embed\">2026-01-15T06:59:14.173Z<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/aside>\n<p>So what does this mean? Are we due a new Switch 2 model already? Well no, hold your horses.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/dootsky.re\/post\/3mcj5zjxbqs2e\">follow-up post<\/a>, dootsky quite rightly states that the original Switch models \u2013 i.e. the Lite, OLED, etc \u2013 all had similar product codes: HAE, HAD, HDH, and HEG. The BEE product code for the Switch 2 shares no similarities with OSM.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s not to rule out a new model <em>entirely<\/em>, but dootsky makes it clear that we shouldn&#8217;t jump to any conclusions just yet. For one, today (16th January) marks one year since the Switch 2 was officially revealed to the world, so can we really expect a new model anytime soon..? Our gut says no.<\/p>\n<p>Still, it&#8217;s interesting nevertheless.
