He goes on to mention how it&#8217;s definitely &#8220;on the way&#8221; and has <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JezCorden\/status\/2003179459936145530\">apparently been &#8220;hitting milestones&#8221;<\/a>, so a 2026 release window looks like a possibility.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"object object-tweet\"><!-- cache: oembed\/https:\/\/twitter.com\/jezcorden\/status\/2003171421879460027 @ 2025-12-23T11:23:00+00:00 --><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p><span lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The first CoD Switch version is nearly done and launching in a few months<\/span>\u2014 Jez (@JezCorden) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JezCorden\/status\/2003171421879460027?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 22, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Our colleagues at <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.purexbox.com\/news\/2025\/12\/rumour-xbox-nearly-done-with-first-version-of-call-of-duty-for-nintendo-switch\"><strong>Pure Xbox<\/strong><\/a> have shared their thoughts about what this release might even be:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re going to guess this probably relates to <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.purexbox.com\/games\/xbox-series-x\/call_of_duty_warzone_2_0\">Call of Duty: Warzone<\/a> \u2014 the ever-evolving free-to-play experience \u2014 rather than a port of Black Ops 7 that may get in the way of a potential Call of Duty mainline release in late 2026.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><\/blockquote>\n<p>Since the <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.purexbox.com\/news\/2022\/12\/microsoft-enters-10-year-commitment-to-bring-call-of-duty-to-nintendo-platforms\">original 10-year deal<\/a> was made to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo platforms, there have been multiple reports about how it&#8217;s still on the way. Most recently, in November, some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2025\/11\/call-of-duty-dev-sledgehammer-games-seeking-talent-with-switch-experience\">Call of Duty job applications<\/a> seeking &#8220;Switch experience&#8221; were discovered.<\/p>\n<p>Activision also shared an update earlier this month about the Call of Duty series &#8220;going forward&#8221;, mentioning how its development and release strategy was changing. This followed on from a negative fan reception to the latest outing, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purexbox.com\/games\/xbox-series-x\/call_of_duty_black_ops_7\" class=\"external\">Call of Duty: Black Ops 7<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Once again, this follows the news last week from the same source, claiming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2025\/12\/rumour-bethesdas-newest-ip-is-still-reportedly-on-course-for-switch-2\">Starfield will land on the Switch 2<\/a> at some point next year.<\/p>\n<p><!-- cache: html:nintendolife.com\/ssl\/nintendo-switch-2\/related-articles:195549,195044,195663,145451 @ 1766631866 --><\/p>\n<aside class=\"block object-related\"> <\/aside>\n<p>Do you think we&#8217;ll see Call of Duty on Nintendo&#8217;s platforms in 2026?
