The latest Japanese charts are now in from Famitsu<\/a>, and while a number of Nintendo heavyweights continue to hold onto the top spots, this week sees an impressive Switch opening for Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse<\/a> (thanks, Gematsu<\/a>). Debuting this week, the remaster of the 2008 Japanese exclusive sold a respectable 10,712 copies, beating the PS4 release which shifted a comparative 9,031.<\/p>\n

This was not enough to challenge any of the highest-selling games this week, however, all of which are the usual suspects from Nintendo. Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe<\/a> takes the top spot for the third week in a row, selling 32,132 copies (around half of last week’s total), while Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet<\/a> and Splatoon 3<\/a> continue to show their longevity as the titles sold 20,889 and 15,861 copies respectively.<\/p>\n

the 2D exploration-adventure, Ib<\/a>, also made its Japanese debut this week, filling a gap in the charts with a nice 9,080 sales. As for last week’s surprise appearance from Metroid Prime Remastered, it’s nowhere to be seen in the top ten this time around.<\/p>\n

    Onto the hardware charts, and this week once again sees Sony’s PS5 come out on top with 51,510 sales, compared to the Switch OLED in second with 37,373.<\/p>\n

    The remaining members of the Switch family land in fourth and fifth positions respectively, as Microsoft’s Xbox Series X makes an unusual leap into the thousands of weekly sales.<\/p>\n
