That may change soon however, as Funko appears to have confirmed that it has obtained a licence to create merchandise based on the cult SNES RPG <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/snes\/earthbound\"><strong>EarthBound<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The smoking gun in this case is a page from a <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/investor.funko.com\/static-files\/608c5249-fe28-4b7e-80e0-f32abc1df0b8\">recent investor&#8217;s presentation<\/a>, which shows all of the licences Funko currently has access to. Eagle-eyed Nintendo fans were quick to spot an interesting name nestled amongst the others:<\/p>\n<aside class=\"object object-tweet\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p><span lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">honestly a little overwhelmed with feelings about this (from page 12) <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/19qbR4hyz6\">https:\/\/t.co\/19qbR4hyz6<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/yWXAdE9vTB\">pic.twitter.com\/yWXAdE9vTB<\/a><\/span>\u2014 Reid Young (@reidman) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/reidman\/status\/965082052398739456?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 18, 2018<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Once news began to circulate online, Funko got involved and appeared to be somewhat confused:<\/p>\n<aside class=\"object object-tweet\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p><span lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We are?<\/span>\u2014 Funko (@OriginalFunko) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OriginalFunko\/status\/965401485268963328?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 19, 2018<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/aside>\n<p>We&#8217;ve got a few possible scenarios here. The person handling Funko&#8217;s social media presence may not be aware of upcoming lines, hence the confusion. Or, they <em>could<\/em> know, but aren&#8217;t able to make an official comment until the line is announced, and the tweet is an attempt to throw fans off the scent.
