As usual, it seems Japan&#8217;s offerings are slightly different.<\/p>\n<p>In the Japanese versions of these apps, the Game Boy application has swapped out <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/gbc\/alone_in_the_dark_the_new_nightmare\">Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare<\/a><\/strong> with the 1989 release <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/gameboy\/yakuman\">Yakuman<\/a><\/strong> (Mahjong). This title was originally a launch title for the system and was never made available outside of Japan.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"picture\"><a class=\"scanlines\" title=\"Yakuman\" href=\"https:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/81e1f6849c963\/yakuman.large.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy\" src=\"image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciIHZpZXdCb3g9IjAgMCA5MDAgNTA2Ij48L3N2Zz4=\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" data-original=\"https:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/81e1f6849c963\/yakuman.900x.jpg\" alt=\"Yakuman\"><\/a><figcaption class=\"caption\"><em class=\"credit\">Image: Nintendo<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It seems unlikely this one will make its way across to the western version of the app, given its history &#8211; so you&#8217;ll need to have access to a Japanese account to download the Japan app. Beyond Yakuman, Japan is also getting some other games in the near future on both the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance services.<\/p>\n<p>The Japan-only 1992 action RPG <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/gameboy\/kaeru_no_tame_ni_kane_wa_naru\">Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru<\/a><\/strong> (<strong>The Frog For Whom The Bell Tolls<\/strong>), has been confirmed for Game Boy, and for the GBA, there&#8217;ll be not one but two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/gba\/fire_emblem\">Fire Emblem<\/a> titles released &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/gba\/fire_emblem\">The Blazing Blade<\/a> and <strong>The Binding Blade<\/strong> (another Japan exclusive).<\/p>\n<aside class=\"gallery\">\n<div class=\"cols\">\n<div class=\"col\"><a title=\"Game Boy\" class=\"scanlines\" href=\"https:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/897c40e4cb5b2\/game-boy.large.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy\" src=\"image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciIHZpZXdCb3g9IjAgMCA0NDUgMjUwIj48L3N2Zz4=\" width=\"445\" height=\"250\" data-original=\"https:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/897c40e4cb5b2\/game-boy.445x.jpg\" alt=\"Game Boy\"><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"col\"><a title=\"Game Boy Advance\" class=\"scanlines scanlines\" href=\"https:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/49c9b01c9ef01\/game-boy-advance.large.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy\" src=\"image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciIHZpZXdCb3g9IjAgMCA0NDUgMjUwIj48L3N2Zz4=\" width=\"445\" height=\"250\" data-original=\"https:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/49c9b01c9ef01\/game-boy-advance.445x.jpg\" alt=\"Game Boy Advance\"><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"caption\"><em class=\"credit\">Images: Nintendo<\/em><\/figcaption><\/aside>\n<p>Apart from this, everything else in the launch lineup is the same as the west.
