A WATA-graded copy of the Game Boy classic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/gameboy\/pokemon_yellow_version_special_pikachu_edition\">Pok\u00e9mon Yellow<\/a> has been completely destroyed after an encounter with US Customs.<\/p>\n<p>As explained by Nightdive Studios CEO Stephen Kick, a friend of his recently purchased a &#8220;sealed and graded&#8221; WATA copy of the original 1999 Game Boy classic. When it arrived, the case was broken, the seal had been &#8220;ripped and discarded&#8221; and even the box was cut up. <em>Ouch!<\/em><\/p>\n<aside class=\"object object-tweet\"><!-- cache: oembed\/https:\/\/twitter.com\/pripyatbeast\/statuses\/1616202248899657728 @ 2023-01-20T01:19:04+00:00 --><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p><span lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Friend of mine received this sealed and graded original copy of Pokemon Yellow&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>US Customs:<br \/>Broke the acrylic case<br \/>Ripped and discarded the seal<br \/>SLICED the front of the box off<\/p>\n<p>Maybe they weren&#8217;t fans of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheWataGames?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@TheWataGames<\/a> ? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lGs1qC1RIF\">pic.twitter.com\/lGs1qC1RIF<\/a><\/p>\n<p><\/span>\u2014 Stephen Kick (@pripyatbeast) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/pripyatbeast\/status\/1616202248899657728?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 19, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/aside>\n<p>It&#8217;s unclear why US Customs decided to tear the whole thing to shreds, so we&#8217;ll assume it must have been suspicious of <em>something<\/em>. As Kick notes, maybe it just wasn&#8217;t a fan of WATA!
