Finding an Element in a List Using the Membership Operator<\/h2>\n

You can use the membership keyword<\/a> operator in<\/code> to check if an element is present in a given list<\/a>. For example, x in mylist<\/code> returns True<\/code> if element x<\/code> is present in my_list<\/code> using the equality<\/a> ==<\/code> operator to compare all list elements against the element x<\/code> to be found.<\/p>\n

Here’s a minimal example:<\/p>\n

my_list = ['Alice', 'Bob', 'Sergey', 'Larry', 'Eric', 'Sundar'] if 'Eric' in my_list: print('Eric is in the list')\n<\/pre>\n
