The 40th Golden Joysticks Awards took place yesterday, and while Elden Ring<\/strong> ended up being crowned the ‘ultimate’ game of the year for 2022, there was some Nintendo Switch representation.<\/p>\n

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom<\/a> was awarded “most wanted game” – beating out titles like Spider-Man 2<\/strong>, Street Fighter 6<\/strong>, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth<\/strong> and the anticipated Bethesda title, Starfield<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On the Nintendo front, Pok\u00e9mon Legends: Arceus<\/a> won the Nintendo game of the year. It was up against Xenoblade Chronicles 3<\/a>, Kirby and the Forgotten Land<\/a>, Live A Live<\/a>, Splatoon 3<\/a> and Nintendo Switch Sports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Some of the Switch nominees in the ‘ultimate’ GOTY category (won by Elden Ring) included Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope<\/a>, Xenoblade Chronicles 3<\/a> and Bayonetta 3<\/a>.
