If you&#8217;re a fan of beloved, janky &#8217;80s movies or beloved, confusing &#8217;60s sci-fi epics, then you&#8217;ll recognise these as the elements of Frank Herbert&#8217;s <strong>Dune<\/strong>. But oh, what&#8217;s this? This isn&#8217;t Dune \u2014 this is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/switch-eshop\/starsand\">Starsand<\/a>, a Switch game that <em>looks<\/em> like Dune and <em>sounds<\/em> like Dune, but is not Dune. And that&#8217;s not a bad thing.<\/p>\n<p>Starsand plops its azure-eyed protagonist down onto a desert planet (not Arrakis) and instructs him to survive. It will then throw sandstorms at you, have your camp invaded by horrible sand-centipedes, threaten you with searing heat, biting cold, thirst, and hunger \u2014 and you&#8217;ll have to figure out how to survive it all.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"picture\"><a class=\"scanlines\" title=\"Starsand\" href=\"https:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/a6f12f14699a4\/starsand.large.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy\" src=\"image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciIHZpZXdCb3g9IjAgMCA5MDAgNTA2Ij48L3N2Zz4=\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" data-original=\"https:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/a6f12f14699a4\/starsand.900x.jpg\" alt=\"Starsand\"><\/a><figcaption class=\"caption\">Walk without rhythm, idiot<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There&#8217;s a point behind it all, too.
