The first trailer<\/a> from the upcoming Super Mario Bros. movie \u2014 unsurprisingly named The Super Mario Bros. Movie<\/strong> \u2014 has been revealed in a special Nintendo Direct presentation<\/a>, and we’ve got our first official look at Mario. Early fan reaction seems to be positive<\/a>, although there are lots of people on Twitter who think Mario in his movie guise looks a little familiar<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Specifically, there’s chatter suggesting that the plumber bears more than a passing resemblance to Fix-It Felix, the handyman hero from Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Felix was, of course, an homage to Mario himself \u2014 or more specifically Jumpman from the original Donkey Kong<\/a> \u2014 so it’s no real surprise that there’s a similarity. However, as you can see from the samples, plenty of fans are picking up strong vibes from this slimmer, trimmer version of video gaming’s most famous face:<\/p>\n
