These affiliate partnerships do not influence our editorial content. <\/em> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Apple&#8217;s Adaptive Transparency feature of the <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/inside\/airpods-pro-2\" title=\"AirPods Pro 2\" data-kpt=\"1\">AirPods Pro 2<\/a> won&#8217;t be retrofitted into the original model, with the inclusion of the feature in an iOS 16.1 beta said to be a mistake.\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>Apple&#8217;s third beta of <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/inside\/ios-16\" title=\"iOS 16\" data-kpt=\"1\">iOS 16.1<\/a> unexpectedly <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/22\/09\/30\/apple-may-bring-adaptive-transparency-to-original-airpods-pro\">included an option<\/a> within the Settings app to seemingly enable Adaptive Transparency on the first-generation AirPods Pro. However, despite appearing in the build of the operating system, it wasn&#8217;t a functional element for users. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>While it brought hope to some that the feature will work in future for the older personal audio accessories, <em>Bloomberg&#8217;s<\/em> Mark Gurman <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/markgurman\/status\/1577007592907321344\">posted<\/a> on Twitter that his sources say &#8220;this is a bug.&#8221; In <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/markgurman\/status\/1577008108404023296\">clarifying<\/a> comments on Monday, Gurman adds &#8220;It&#8217;s not meant to work,&#8221; and probably was only accessible by mistake. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>Adaptive Transparency for the second-generation <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/inside\/airpods-pro\" title=\"AirPods Pro\" data-kpt=\"1\">AirPods Pro<\/a> is an enhancement of the original Transparency mode, which allows some environmental sounds through while reducing the volume of drones and ongoing noises.
