*deep breath*<\/em> There was a Nintendo Direct this week! And it was chock-a-block full of games<\/a>. But the big news is that we<\/em>, at last,<\/em> know the name (and release date<\/a>) of Breath of the Wild’s follow-up. RIP The Sequel to<\/strong>… The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom<\/a><\/em> is a lot less of a mouthful, to be honest. And that box art is… well, art<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Other Direct highlights include Pikmin 4<\/a> actually, really existing<\/a>, a brand new Fire Emblem<\/strong> game with a toothpaste-haired protagonist<\/a>, and Octopath Traveler II<\/a> bringing more HD-2D goodness to the Switch<\/em>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Elsewhere, we broke down the new Zelda trailer<\/a> in extreme detail and took a look back at Xenoblade Chronicles 3<\/a> developer Monolith Soft’s history with Nintendo<\/a>, who just happens to be working on Tears of the Kingdom. But we also made time to review the MMO Pok\u00e9mon-like Temtem<\/a>, and we were pretty impressed<\/a>!<\/em>

Remember when I left on vacation believing I would complete Xenoblade Chronicles 3<\/a> in said period of absence? The 100th hour is coming up on my save data and as far as I can tell I\u2019m nowhere near the end.<\/p>\n

Add a splice of SD Gundam Battle Alliance<\/a> hectic combat and grind-heavy upgrades along with the sad realization I\u2019m nowhere near as good as I remember at Radiant Silvergun<\/a> and that’s my weekend sorted… Assuming I can stay away long enough from Splatoon 3<\/a>, River City Saga Three Kingdoms<\/a> and JoJo\u2019s Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle R<\/a>. 48 hours just isn’t enough.<\/p>\n

I’ve just downloaded the Harvestella<\/a> demo \u2014 I don’t usually bother with demos, but this one I think requires me trying it out for myself. I love farming-type games, but I’m not a massive fan of Square Enix JRPGs… they’re too long, and there are too many characters. Admittedly, so are farming games. But it’s different!!!<\/p>\n

So far it seems nice but it’s been pretty much one long cutscene. I hope I get to do something soon. Also, is it just me, or is it almost exactly the plot of Bloodborne???<\/p>\n
