It’s happening folks, it’s finally happening! After keeping us in the dark for months on end (bar some rumours<\/a> which had us convinced of its truth), Nintendo has today announced that it will be hosting a full Direct Showcase tomorrow<\/a> (September 13th<\/strong>) at 7am PT \/ 10am ET \/ 3pm BST<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Thanks to word from Giant Bomb<\/a> journalist and all-round rumour machine Jeff Grubb, we have been led to believe that there is going to be a lot of Zelda content for us to get into with this one. It seems likely that we will hear about Switch ports for either one or both of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD<\/a> and Twilight Princess<\/a>, and could tomorrow finally be the day when we get to hear something<\/em> more about Breath of the Wild 2<\/a>? Just give us a title at least Nintendo, please!<\/em><\/p>\n

There is also word that tomorrow’s Direct could see the reveal that Metroid Prime<\/a> is coming to the Switch, with rumours of that particular port seemingly having been around since the beginning of time itself.<\/p>\n

But what else will we see? Will there be news of Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp<\/a>? Might we hear about Xenoblade Chronicles 3<\/a> DLC? Will we know more about an upcoming Mario game, Odyssey<\/a> 2 or otherwise? Is there even more<\/em> Zelda news that we might have missed?<\/p>\n

Some of our wonderful writers here at Nintendo Life have shared their predictions for what might just appear in the Direct below. But don’t just take our word for it, we want to hear from you too! Oh, how I would love to be contrary in my predictions and say that I honestly believe this Direct will see the Switch release of something big and unexpected. The fact of the matter is, I would be lying if I said I wasn\u2019t excited about the most likely scenarios.<\/p>\n

Wind Waker<\/a> and Twilight Princess<\/a> ports aside, I am really<\/em> hoping for some Breath of the Wild 2<\/a> news. With Splatoon 3 out of the way and Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet on the horizon, Nintendo needs to give us some more information on their next big title, and why shouldn\u2019t it be the one about which I am the most excited? I think a full release date is still unlikely, but a new trailer and official title must<\/em> be on the cards, right?<\/p>\n

It’s for the same reason that I am holding out for some news on the next Mario Odyssey<\/a>-esque game. Putting aside my own personal infatuation with the 3D release, Odyssey was a huge title for the Switch and with Super Mario 3D All-Stars not coming close to scratching that itch, Big-N would do well to keep our love for the plumber on good terms before the dreaded movie drops\u2026<\/p>\n

With the rumour mill churning out all the usual suspects (which \u2013 don\u2019t get me wrong \u2013 I\u2019d love to see materialise), there are a couple of lower-tier titles that would make my day were they to show up. Grezzo has been awfully quiet for the past couple of years, and after eyeing the approaching 30th anniversary of The Frog For Whom The Bell Tolls<\/strong> (the Japan-only Game Boy title, Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru<\/a>, which served as the template for Link\u2019s Awakening<\/a>), I would love<\/em> to see a remake of that on Switch in the same cute style.<\/p>\n

The arrival of Game Boy titles on Nintendo Switch Online has been rumoured for a while and might make sense as a way to bolster the base offering. Having gone back to Wave Race 64<\/a> recently, it\u2019s fired up my enthusiasm for a new entry in that series, or Excitebike<\/a>, or 1080<\/a>, or (whisper it) F-Zero<\/a>. Or Rhythm Heaven<\/a>. It\u2019s time for more Rhythm Heaven!<\/p>\n

And beyond first-party, there was that rumour<\/a> that Rocksteady\u2019s Arkham Collection was coming to Switch. I could get behind that.<\/p>\n

I always like to go into a Nintendo Direct with low expectations for fear of being disappointed, but I confess \u2013 my heart needs some more Hollow Knight: Silksong<\/a> in my life. If we\u2019re feeling extra daring, how about a release date? I\u2019m going to be let down, aren\u2019t I?<\/p>\n

Anyway, for some things that seem more realistic: it\u2019s been a while since we\u2019ve heard anything about the Dragon Quest III<\/a> HD-2D Remake. I\u2019ll keep bringing it up on every single one of these posts until we get a new trailer or something<\/em>. And, sticking with RPGs I think we might get a look at Xenoblade Chronicle 3\u2019s first Season Pass update. It\u2019s due in the winter, after all!<\/p>\n

Really, though, Directs are where I get most excited for the things I would never predict. I love surprises, so as much as I would be thrilled to see the Metroid Prime remake come true (and I\u2019ll drop money on it so fast, having never played it on GameCube or Wii), a brand new title or port of a hidden, hard to find gem would be a blast. Show us what you\u2019ve got, Nintendo.<\/p>\n

Like most Nintendo Directs, I feel like I could bash out a whole bunch of predictions and then none<\/em> of them turn out to be true. Ain\u2019t that the way? That said, the rumours surrounding potential ports of Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Metroid Prime are so<\/em> widespread at the moment, I kind of feel like there has<\/em> to be something there, right?<\/p>\n

Otherwise, I\u2019d very much like to see some sort of update on Metroid Prime 4<\/a>; maybe just a short teaser? Something<\/em> to tell me that it\u2019s still in the works and on its way. I\u2019d also love to see the Switch get some tasty horror games in the coming months, because it kind of feels like the other platforms are getting all the good horror games at the moment (hi, Resident Evil 4 remake<\/a>). For a final, rather niche prediction\/wish, it would be absolutely incredible if developer ZA\/UM came out with some sort of sequel to Disco Elysium<\/a>\u2026 One can only hope.<\/p>\n

As for this winter \u2014 which is apparently what the Direct will be primarily focused on \u2014 I\u2019m good, y\u2019know? I don\u2019t want to see much more of games like Bayonetta 3<\/a>, Mario + Rabbids Spark of Hope<\/a>, and Sonic Frontiers<\/a>. Certainly nothing on Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet<\/a>, thank you very much. I know at this point whether I\u2019m going to get them or not, so another trailer isn\u2019t going to change my mind.<\/p>\n
