After drip-feeding us Pokemon Scarlet and Violet<\/a> reveals for the past few months, today saw the release of the newest ScarVi trailer<\/a> (yes, that’s what we’re calling it, sometimes in our best pirate voice), which promised to be packed full of new information to get us pumped and ready to explore Paldea.<\/p>\n

While it certainly stuffed a lot in, we couldn’t help but feel a bit like we were watching a person speak with their mouth full for three minutes. We finished the trailer feeling a little less AH!<\/em> and a little more EH?<\/em><\/p>\n

We think it’s fair to say that a lot of this came down to how the trailer was edited. Come on, whose idea was it to put those cantered dialogue boxes so large and on the screen and for such a short time? Even the fastest readers among us struggled to keep up with what felt like a barrage of info.<\/p>\n

That conveniently segues into the second editing issue we had regarding the amount of information being given to us without the opportunity to savour<\/em> it. The three-path structure of Scarlet and Violet looked very interesting indeed, however, keeping these new ideas in our heads became difficult when the trailer was keen to move on to the next point.<\/p>\n

Short and snappy is better than bloated and boring, sure, but we would have appreciated a little<\/em> more time to absorb the information here. Our thought process, desperate to keep up with all the new details, became frazzled by the speed at which it was delivered. Ooo, storylines! Ok, Victory Road is still here. Wait, who’s that big crab boy? You can send your Pok\u00e9mon away now? Ok, really big crab boy.<\/em> Baddy team on cars. Mega Man? Was that a whip on his belt? Ooo shiny diamonds!<\/em><\/p>\n
