The company submitted claims totalling around 963,500 rubles (approx. $16,800), according to the case\u2019s description.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2022\/03\/the-video-game-industry-pledges-its-support-for-the-beleaguered-people-of-ukraine\">Like many international companies<\/a>, Nintendo has severely downscaled its operations in Russia following the Ukraine invasion, from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2022\/03\/nintendo-halts-exports-to-russia\">halting new shipments<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2022\/03\/nintendo-eshop-payments-suspended-in-russia\">pulling the plug on the Nintendo eShop<\/a> \u2013 although admittedly stopping short of any direct statement regarding the war.<\/p>\n<p>However, Mir Nintendo (\u201cWorld of Nintendo\u201d) ceased normal operations back in September 2021 when KupiVip, a clothing retailer that Nintendo chose as its fulfilment partner, folded a few months after Russian tech giant Yandex backed out of a deal to buy it.<\/p>\n<p>Mir Nintendo launched in 2013 as a part of Nintendo\u2019s plan to establish a presence in Russia. Throughout the lifespan of the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS \u2013 which most major Russian retailers refused to carry \u2013 it was a prime place to buy Nintendo games and consoles.
