Seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has revealed that he’s digging back into the past to let off steam during what is proving to be a demanding season.<\/p>\n

Hamilton was infamously beaten to the title last season by Max Verstappen in controversial circumstances, but rule changes this year have caused a large amount of disruption for F1 teams, with Hamilton’s Mercedes outfit struggling to adapt. As a result, he’s 88 points off championship leader Verstappen and is yet to claim a race win.<\/p>\n

Prior to the first practice session of this weekend’s Canadian GP, Hamilton spoke of his desire to play some classic video games (thanks, Daily Star<\/a>):<\/p>\n

I just had this itch to play old games. I found an old Nintendo 64 in my storage and bought Golden Eye<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Then, when I landed [in Canada], I went to get Mario Kart<\/strong><\/a> but they didn\u2019t have it, so I bought a Sega Genesis and they had the Senna game and I thought, \u2018this is perfect\u2019. So I\u2019ve been spending the last couple of nights driving the Senna game.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The ‘Senna’ game Hamilton is referring to is Ayrton Senna’s Super Monaco GP II<\/strong>, a 16-bit racer which carried an official endorsement from the late F1 superstar \u2013 one of Hamilton’s personal heroes.<\/p>\n
