These affiliate partnerships do not influence our editorial content. <\/em> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Apple may introduce an updated <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/inside\/macbook-air\">MacBook Air<\/a> at WWDC 2022, one that could be revealed as part of the launch of the M2 Apple Silicon generation. <\/p>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>Apple is rumored to be close to launching its next generation of Apple Silicon chips, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/22\/02\/13\/apples-m2-chip---what-to-expect-from-the-next-apple-silicon-evolution\">M2<\/a> potentially being unveiled at <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/inside\/wwdc\">WWDC<\/a> 2022. As part of the launch, there is a chance Apple could bring out a <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/22\/01\/07\/everything-we-know-about-the-redesigned-macbook-air-with-m2-processor\">new version<\/a> of the MacBook Air at the same time. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>According to Mark Gurman&#8217;s &#8220;Power On&#8221; newsletter for <em>Bloomberg<\/em>, any hardware launches at WWDC will &#8220;likely be on the Mac side.&#8221; Apple is also said to have been aiming to &#8220;launch the next MacBook Air with M2 chips at the conference.&#8221; <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>While Apple planned for a launch, a supply chain crunch caused by <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/inside\/coronavirus\">COVID-19<\/a> lockdowns in China seemed to put that goal in jeopardy. However, Gurman says that developers have noticed Apple employees using &#8220;next-generation MacBook Airs with their apps,&#8221; presumably for testing the hardware pre-announcement. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>The idea of Apple introducing an updated MacBook Air has been floated <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/22\/04\/10\/updated-macbook-air-could-launch-at-wwdc-2022\">a few times<\/a>, and as one of the earliest M1 products, it seems like one of the biggest candidates for a refresh. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>Rumors have put forward the idea that the MacBook Air can have a renewed appearance bringing it in line with the <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/inside\/14-inch-macbook-pro\">14-inch MacBook Pro<\/a>. This could include a display with a notch, complete with a 1080p camera, multiple color options, and a chassis change that removes the signature taper. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>While the focus of Gurman&#8217;s comment is the MacBook Air, there are reportedly at <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/22\/04\/15\/at-least-nine-macs-with-m2-apple-silicon-chips-are-reportedly-in-development\">least nine Macs<\/a> in development using M2-generation chips. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AppleInsider is supported by its audience and may earn commission as an Amazon Associate and affiliate partner on qualifying purchases.
